Aaron Ransom Smith, 63, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 4, 1959 in Seattle, Washington, the son of Harvey "Bucks" Lloyd and Luena (Ransom) Smith.
Aaron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as a faithful elder and priesthood holder. As a young man, he wrestled at Olympic Junior High, Mt. Rainier High School, and Saugus High School. He also played baseball, basketball, was on the diving team, ran track and field, and raced motorcycles. Aaron served a full-time 2 year mission for the Church in Rome, Italy spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to many. Aaron then attended Brigham Young University. He was a lover of good books and all sports, especially golf, basketball, football, and stock car racing. A gifted salesman and international traveler, he visited over thirty countries and spoke four languages: English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. He was a talented baker and cook. Aaron was a former member of S.P.P.B.S.Q.S.U.S. and a talented tenor who loved harmony and barbershop quartet singing. He was a man of love, compassion, patience, long-suffering, and great faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Ruthie Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Darlee Smith; son, Bryan Trent Smith; son, Joseph Aldon Smith; daughter, Aralee Renee Smith; brother, Brian Smith; brother, Preston Smith; sister, Shannan Wright; sister, Kirsten Cambron
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
