Joyce A.K. Smith· Brother-in-LawSep 16, 2026

When I graduated high school May 1967, Harold and Sharon sent me a Greyhound bus ticket to join them in San Bernardino, Calif. It was one of the best times of my life. I saw a different world than in my small hometown in MO. Harold was a real gentleman and was so good to me. They showed me a wonderful time and showed me that life is bigger than what I came from.

Sharon & Harold were so in love and happy and he was kind and generous. Harold encouraged me to get a Calif. driver's license that I believe I have kept in a drawer all of these years.

Harold also was kind to many of my siblings and took several of them in over the years, housed and fed them. That is real generosity.

My 4 months in California was one of the best things that happened to me, because later in life,

I met my husband who was my gift.

My heartfelt thankfulness goes to both Harold & Sharon, who are now sharing each other's company with the angels in heaven. RIP my brother-in-law, you have earned a good reward.

We were so sorry to hear Harold had passed. He was such a good neighbor to us. When Lloyd wasn’t able to mow our yard, Harold took care of it. He was a good man, we will miss him so much. Prayers of comfort to the family.
