Fred Alton Wilson Sr.
Age 74, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 23, 1948 in Quanah, Texas, the son of Claude and Clara (Johnson) Wilson.
Fred was very active in sports growing up, everything from Little League baseball catcher, high school football and even track and field. He was an accomplished horseman and master leather worker. And his leather hand bags and purses were very sought after. Woodworking was also a hobby of his and he could carve out about anything.
Family was his life with fishing coming in a close second. He spent a lot of time at the beach on the Gulf Coast of Texas. He was a lover of fancy cars and crazy women. Always had a funny joke or story to tell. He enjoyed antique shopping and collecting odds and ends. He would occasionally sing out a random tune. Even though he wasn't an affectionate man, his love was endless.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Donald and Robert Wilson
Survivors include nine children: Fred Wilson Jr. (Nikia) of West Fork, Arkansas, Jason Wilson, Carrie Wilson (Jason Meadows) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Casey Wilson of Rogers, Arkansas, plus Mark, Leigh Ann, Aimi, Lee, and Wendy; two sisters Glenda McBay and Pauline Dority both of Grand Prairie, Texas; eight grandchildren Cabrin Edgar, Jonathan Estridge, Aslynn Hale, Zayden Wilson, Brayden Davison, Clare Jackson, Brantley Wilson and Paisley Meadows.
Funeral Service will be held 9:00 AM Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, at Prairie Grove Cemetery Pavilion in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
