Wanda Sue Foster

1940 — 2022
At rest at Prairie Grove Cemetery
Obituary

Wanda Sue Pittman Foster, born on September 13, 1940 to Robert and Cora Broughton Pittman left this life on January 14, 2022 at Willard Walker Hospice House.

Wanda loved being outdoors, including gardening, hunting, fishing, and mowing the yard, yes even at 81 years old. Wanda could bake anything, from scratch, she didn’t believe in “store bought” anything. Pies, cakes, brownies, and her infamous Peanut Butter Blossom cookie. Above all else, she enjoyed time with her family most of all.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, one son James Dale Foster, brother Donald Wayne Pittman.

She is survived by daughter Brenda Sue Foster of Farmington, two grandsons Matthew James Foster and wife Crystal of New Smyrna, Florida, Sammy Dwayne Foster of Lincoln, one granddaughter Jessica Coreen Rex and husband Garrett of Prairie Grove. Three great-grandchildren Chassidy Grace Rex, Lucas James Rex, and Maverick Gage Lee Foster. Several “honorary” kids, nieces and nephews.

The family is asking that instead of sending flowers

Brenda and family,

There are never words that can be said to take away the sadnwss and heartbreak you are feeling today. What I can say is there is nothing like the love your mother had for you, she was always so proud of her children, She was a loving, caring, and compassionate lady. She loved you unconditionally and there will be a brighter and more beautiful day when you see her again. May God give you comfort and peace in the days and weeks ahead, and know your friends are here for you if you need anything.

Wanda was a special lady. We shared a locker at PGHS from 7th through 12th grades. She was my best friend during those years. Many special memories of those years,

WANDA, ONE OF THE MOST LOVING,KIND, AND ADVENTURACE WOMEN, I LOVED HOW SHE ALWAYS STAYED TRUE TO HERSELF IN STEAD OF WAITING FOR HER HUSBAND TO RETURN FROM HUNTING, SHE WENT WITH HIM OFTEN BAGGING THE BETTER TROPHY. WANDA WAS JUST ONE OF THE BEST.
